Sun Chemical Receives TLMI’s Calvin Frost Sustainability Leadership Journey Award
PARSIPPANY, N.J., U.S.A. – October 31, 2022 – Sun Chemical’s sustainability efforts were recognized with the Calvin Frost Sustainability Leadership Journey Award in the supplier category by TLMI.
The Calvin Frost Journey Award is earned by a TLMI member company that has publicly stated goals and begun implementing short-term actions aimed at long-term metrics to improve their business through sustainability efforts. Sun Chemical won the Journey Award for the sustainability of its products and reduced environmental impact, as well as its information sharing activities such as training, seminars, and social media posts.
“To be recognized by one of the label and packaging printing industry’s leading associations in this way is not only a great honor, it speaks volumes to the progress we’ve made as a company toward sustainability both with our products and operations,” said Dennis Sweet, Vice President of NWTL and Commercial, Sun Chemical. “From adding solar panels to carports at our R&D Center for Narrow Web Technology located in Carlstadt, N.J., to developing solutions that replace laminated structures with a mono-web coating or that are designed to help boost recycling rates, Sun Chemical is focused on being both sustainable as a company and developing sustainable solutions for our narrow web customers.”
Named for a long-time industry environmentalist, the TLMI Calvin Frost Sustainability Leadership Awards recognize the leadership efforts of member companies that have demonstrated their commitment to positive environmental practices within various technical areas. These include reducing solid waste, expanding a recycling project, recovering waste or energy, and implementing new clean technology.
“Sun Chemical’s global commitment to enabling sustainability for all packaging solutions drives our innovation portfolio and programs as a top priority,” said Nikola Juhasz, Global Technical Director, Sustainability, Sun Chemical. “It’s especially gratifying to see the efforts and outcomes of our sustainability journey acknowledged by industry peers through this award. And it inspires us to keep going.”
