SunDuo®

Sun Chemical’s SunDuo inks for two-piece cans optimize metal can print production with good press performance and a high pigment load. The inks are suitable for the printing of non-varnish and overvarnish steel and aluminum beverage cans.

With excellent printability at high speeds, the SunDuo ink series provides good mileage and a trouble-free process for customers producing two-piece metal cans.

SunTrio®

Suitable for all types of metal cans and closures, from crowns to pails, aluminum pilfer-proof caps, aerosols, food cans, drawn fish cans and more, Sun Chemical’s SunTrio offers a range of versatile, flexible, cost-effective and highly resilient inks for three-piece metal deco applications.

Featuring low misting and good adhesion between layers and to the substrate, the range is available in conventional and UV versions with excellent printability at high speeds. The range also includes migration-compliant inks available for food and other sensitive packaging.

With excellent press performance and Nestlé compliance for all applications, SunTrio enables converters and canmakers to efficiently produce metal packaging.

Sun Chemical’s SunAltec® ink series offers a high-quality and high-performance range of inks for metal decorating on monobloc aerosol cans, drink bottles and aluminum collapsible. The portfolio of inks provides outstanding performance, superior quality, high productivity and strong chemical resistance properties.

Designed for metal packaging, SunAltec offers thermal, catalytic and UV drying inks.

Part of the SunAltec product family includes the MB Plus Series, a versatile ink series that has been specifically designed for the application on monobloc aerosols. The ink series uses an alkyd-based ink system which has been modified for optimum performance on new generation product lines utilizing today’s basecoat technology.

Inkjet Inks and Varnishes for Digital Printing on Metal Cans and Packaging

Sun Chemical’s DigiMet™ range of inkjet inks can be tuned to most available printheads on the market and are developed specifically for the metal decoration industry.

Available in UV and LED cure formulations, DigiMet inks are optimized to work alongside traditional basecoats and topcoats where required so that end use properties can be achieved.

Digital solutions are available for two-piece and three-piece cans and are optimized for adhesion and flexibility to comply with existing can making needs. For food sensitive metal packaging applications, low migration capable inkjet inks and varnishes are also available.
